Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice Welcomes Two New Partners Specializing in Worker’s Compensation Defense and Special Education Defense for School Districts

Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice LLP, a Louisiana regional law firm focusing its practice in education and insurance defense, is pleased to announce Linda K. Ewbank and Dr. Wayne T. Stewart as new partners effective January 1, 2018.

Ms. Ewbank is based in the firm’s Monroe, Louisiana office; and Dr. Stewart works from the firm’s Baton Rouge, Louisiana office.

Workers Compensation Expert
A graduate of Northeast Louisiana University and Louisiana State University, Linda is a key member of the Civil Defense Litigation team at Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice helping defend Louisiana based clients against unreasonable and fraudulent claims. She is an expert at helping both self-insured employers and worker compensation insurers defeat meritless work injury claims, whether during administration of a claim or before the Louisiana Worker’s Compensation Court. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Special Education Training and Legal Defense Professional
A graduate of Duke University, Louisiana State University and Loyola, Dr. Stewart’s practice focuses on Special Education defense cases and Section 504 law. He provides legal guidance and a defense to school districts in connection with due process hearings, State level administrative complaints, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) complaints, and lawsuits in both state and federal courts in Louisiana. He is also a trusted expert providing in-service training for school districts and other personnel concerning the various procedures and laws involving special education students and services. Dr Stewart is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and before the United States Supreme Court.
