Public school boards in Louisiana have for over 25 years called upon the attorneys of Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice to provide sound legal counsel regarding the various issues facing public school boards. The firm continues to provide comprehensive legal services for public school systems throughout the State of Louisiana. The firm provides advice and representation on matters relating to faculty, staff and student relationship, procurement, public financing, contracts, property, construction, desegregation, claims under Title VII, Title IX, Section 504 and the Civil Rights Act, the American with Disabilities Act, church/state relations and free-speech issues, constitutional issues, and public bid law issues.

Some highlights include representing school districts in their desegregation lawsuits, handling class-actions against asbestos manufacturers for the use of asbestos-containing materials within the schools, and handling complex federal and state constitutional issues.

The firm presently is providing services to about 50 of the 70 public school districts in Louisiana.
